In-Kind Contributions

From time to time gifts of appliances, equipment, and furniture that are in serviceable and good working order are very helpful to our organization and are most appreciated. At times the donation of clothing for boys and adults is also helpful to particular programs. Gift certificates that can be utilized in major clothing and department stores are also very helpful. Organizations and commercial establishments have also provided group admission tickets to various recreational and cultural events. The need for particular gifts will vary from time to time and program to program. To find out more about in-kind gifts that are needed at this time please contact us at Donations@GuideProgram.org.

Internships and Practica

GUIDE maintains relationships with a number of graduate and undergraduate academic programs through which structured internships, field experiences, and/or practica may be arranged. Most typically internships involve graduate students in social work, counseling, psychology, and pastoral counseling. Typically interns work under agency supervision providing direct clinical services and receive academic credit. If you are interested in participating in an internship, fieldwork experience, or practica, you may speak with your field placement office or internship advisor at school, or contact GUIDE at Volunteer@GuideProgram.org.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

A wide variety of individually arranged volunteer opportunities exist at GUIDE. In some areas we are often in need of tutors and others who can offer academic assistance. We have utilized individuals with skilled trades and professions to perform volunteer activities and services as well. Clubs, religious groups, sororities, and fraternities have provided such activities as diverse as an interior painting project or landscaping project at a group home, weekly mentoring of youth in a youth center setting, and providing transportation and participation opportunities for resident youth or adults in Alcoholics Anonymous and other community programs and religious experiences. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering at GUIDE please contact us at Volunteer@GuideProgram.org.
